所學何事
前三藩市市參事趙悅明上周在法庭上承認索賄罪名。雖然在法官面對認罪了，但在法庭外，趙仍然堅持無辜。他的代表律師Hanlon表示：趙一直堅持無罪至今，是因為他是被人們教導在亞裔社區就是這樣辦事的。（in the Asian community that this is how business was done.）。真的是如此嗎？
趙悅明向申請商業牌照的商戶索取金錢一案，對華裔參政的形象已造成相當的傷害，正在競選當中的一些華裔候選人，便遇到有選民明確表示因為趙悅明而不會再投票給華裔。因為個人行為的不當，趙悅明向法庭承擔責任了，目前只是在等待判刑。可是，趙卻並未就他對社區造成的傷害而道歉，反而指責整個亞裔社區，說自己都是被社區「教壞」的。按趙的說，嚴格來說也不算「教壞」，因為趙是「單純地」認為這種行為不屬違法，直至被聯邦調查局告上法庭，才恍然大悟。
如趙悅明所言屬實，則亞裔社區便要深切反省，原來政治人物向商戶非法索取金錢是天天都發生的事，也是我們教育新進政客的必修科。若然，我們社區是多麼的黑暗骯髒和無法無天，簡直是族裔的恥辱。不是趙悅明的錯，是所有華人和亞裔的錯，是我們這賄賂文化污染了他。
趙悅明向法官認錯了，並且答應痛改前非。那作為教壞趙先生的整個灣區亞裔社區有沒有反省呢？我們錯在那裡？賄賂是我們的文化嗎？其他華裔政客，按趙的說法，也許他們也在做同一樣的勾當嗎？因為「亞裔社區就是這樣辦事的」。若我們都同意趙的說法，便應開展一場自首運動，學習他的大徹大悟。若不認同，便要反問趙這樣諉過於全亞裔的做法合理和可以接受嗎？是否要社區因他的個人行為而二度受傷害呢！

Mr. Jew probably learned all these from his father, grandfather, great-grandfather. In order to have something get done, you have to bribe somebody, give the red envelopes. That's was 150 years or 50 years ago. Mr. Jew is still living in the 1930' or 1860's. Or he thought that now he is/was an officer of something, it is time for him to play the role of receving because his father, grandfather were doing the giving part. As a supervisor of something, now he is licensed to receive the red envelopes.
I am sure his flower shop has a bitter story to tell. Too bad he did not see the movie "Godfather Part II.". I don't know if anybody is willing to give away their hard-earned money. In that movie, somebody decided that was not the case. Something is totally wrong, and took the control of the matter.
