This is another phenomenon that I don't fully understand about HK's society. From my experience, college students here seem more serious about their academic pursue as well as their own personal spiritual development. Besides the democracy talked about emptily with their dirty words, HK university students should also learn about this from their counterpart in other country.
This also reminded me an incident a year ago. The newly elected chairman of the HKU student union, 陳一諤, was driven down from his post after he made some remarks about the June 4 incident in China in a forum hosted by the student union. Rational discussions seem impossible in the current HK social and political environment.
Sub-cultures is everywhere. There is rap, there is Mozart, Beethoven. It is really up to you to choose.
It is the value system of each person. People do make money on sub-cultures. It is easier than the traditional crafts. It is the mass media make them so successful.
They are successful doesn't mean that you have to accept them.
I am afraid that it isn't solely a subculture, rather, it becomes a trend among HK's young people. It will be too late when it becomes a norm in HK's society.

一邊聽一邊擰頭,真係世風日下。只好當是負面教材。
