種族牌再現
希拉莉在民主黨初選中敗陣，與奧巴馬陣營成功運用「種族牌」相關。希拉莉是白人，奧巴馬是黑人，常理是：只有白人侮辱和排擠黑人。所以，當奧巴馬一方指責希拉莉和克林頓種族歧視，很容易被不加思考地接受了。希拉莉中了這招受傷非淺。奧巴馬得到近九成非裔的選票，是他擊敗希拉莉的主要原因之一。可能是食髓知味，奧近日又向麥凱因施出「逆向種族牌」。
何謂「逆向種族牌」？簡單就是賊喊捉賊。奧巴馬成功利用自己的族裔身份，在選戰中打扮為種族主義的受害人，在刺激非裔支持外，也可以爭取反歧視的中間和開明派選民的同情。不過，密切監察民主黨選情的麥凱因團隊，自然很明白奧巴馬運用種族牌的技倆，麥沒有像克林頓夫婦般被抹得一身黑至有理說不清，麥營即時予以迎面的還擊。
事緣稍早前，奧巴馬在演說指共和黨不想看到一位與美鈔上頭像不一樣的人做總統。明顯，這是在煽動民眾，使他們相信共和黨反對奧巴馬全因為膚色之故。奧巴馬演說技巧是了得的，他沒有明白說出種族，是陰用其意，留下聽眾無窮的想像空間，而不必提供實質的歧視例證。
麥凱因選擇了直接還擊，直指奧巴馬在玩弄種族牌。一名白人候選人指責非裔對手耍種族手段，本來是很不尋常，且會引來反效果的。麥之所以在奧巴馬一字不提族裔的情況下把種族爭議提到台面，是汲取了民主黨初選的教訓。除了種族牌外，相信還有更多在奧希之爭的議題會陸續浮現。奧巴馬能擊敗希拉莉，但用同一手法對付麥凱因能否見效，則是另一回事。

So what does Obama represent anyway when he isn't even a descendant of a slave and his only American parent is white?
Well, there are/were many incidents that people play the race card.
The O. J. case in Los Angeles. The affirmative action in higher education/employment. Years and years ago, a Chinese parent sue UC System of deniying his kid enroll in UC.
Any body in the "minority" will do the race card every no and then. If you can prove that you are not Chinese but Korean or Japanese, you increase your chance get into UC.
For the White, you can always play the reverse race card. Reverse discremination also works.
In the presidentail racec, you just have to do anything and everything to win. Losing such race is too much to bear. By the way, in this culture (American), winning is everythig. Winning is the only thing. Asa in the movie "Appollo 13", "failure is not an option.".
Sombody ask what does Obama represents? Nothing, but a vision of a non-white being in the White House. U.S. President is U.S. president? Any color will do. Half and half is as good as double white.
